{"id":2958,"date":"2020-10-28T14:36:09","date_gmt":"2020-10-28T13:36:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.athex.eu\/product\/earth-rite-fibc\/"},"modified":"2026-03-26T14:02:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T13:02:00","slug":"earth-rite-fibc","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/www.athex.eu\/en\/product\/earth-rite-fibc\/","title":{"rendered":"Earth-Rite<sup class=\"mark mark-r\">\u00ae<\/sup> FIBC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"short-des\">Static grounding for type C FIBC bigbags and other conductive plastic objects<\/div>\n<div class=\"long-des\">The Earth-Rite<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0FIBC\u00a0system\u00a0monitors the resistance of Type C FIBC bags ensuring the static dissipative elements of the bag are capable of conducting electrostatic charges through the FIBC in compliance with IEC 61340-4-4 \u201cStandard test methods for specific applications \u2013 Electrostatic classification of flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBC)\u201d and NFPA 77 \u201cRecommended Practice on Static Electricity\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>To compensate for normal wear and tear on Type C bags it is important to ensure the bag maintains its ability to dissipate electrostatic charges. It is equally important to ensure earthing connection between the bag and plant earth grounding point is functioning correctly.<\/p>\n<p>During the bag filling \/ emptying process the Earth-Rite<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> FIBC system continuously monitors the resistance of the Type C bag. If the resistance of the bag rises above the recommended level of 1 x 10<sup>7<\/sup>\u00a0ohms\u00a0(10 meg-ohm) this dangerous situation averted through system mounted indicators that inform the operator the process must be halted. The system\u2019s volt-free contacts can be used to automatically shut down the operation or activate some additional attention grabbing devices.<\/p>\n<p>Newson Gale can also provide the Earth-Rite<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> FIBC configured to validate and monitor Type C bags that are designed to operate with an upper resistance level of 1 x 10<sup>8<\/sup>ohms (100 meg-ohm).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resistance monitoring through bigbag<\/strong><br \/>\nEnsures that the quality of the bigbag is safe, and that the static grounding connection with the bigbag is in a good condition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Continuous Ground Loop Monitoring<\/strong><br \/>\nMonitors the resistance of the static dissipative loop through the FIBC bag back to the Earth-Rite<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> FIBC via the plant earth grounding point. If the system detects that the resistance in the loop is higher than 10<sup>7<\/sup>\u00a0ohms, it engages a pair of output contacts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Attention grabbing LEDs<\/strong><br \/>\nSimple and striking GOOD\/BAD indication. Red and pulsing Green LED indicators tell operators whether or not a good ground connection is made.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ATEX \/ FM certified grounding clamps<\/strong><br \/>\nRobust Stainless Steel grounding clamps, specifically designed for a perfect connection with flexible materials.
