Static earthing for type C Bigbags

The Earth-Rite FIBC system monitors the resistance of Type C FIBC bags ensuring that the conductive elements of the bag are capable of dissipating static charges. The FIBC system can be setup to ensure that operators earth the bag before operations are started.

Resistance monitoring system, combined with machine interlocking output contact, ensures operators correctly clamp and earth the bag before filling or emptying can commence.
While the process is underway the system continuously monitors the resistance of the bag ensuring static charges have a safe static dissipative path to earth.
Red and Green LED indicators tell operators whether or not a good earth connection is made.

CLC/TR: 50404 states the following in relation to the static hazards associated with powder filling and emptying of FIBCs:
"Electrostatic charge can be generated during filling and emptying and it can accumulate on the product as well as on the fabric from which a FIBC is constructed or on any parts of it. An ignition could occur if the accumulated charge is released in the form of an incendive discharge in the presence of a flammable atmosphere. Spark, brush, cone and propagating brush discharges are all possible when FIBC are used " (CLC/TR: 50404).
